Congratulations!
You have been given the opportunity to live another day. It is an entrance into a new beginning. Worrying about the regrets, failures, and disappointments of yesterday will only rob you of the joys of the present. Today lies before you with incredible potential. It has been said, “Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift…that’s why we call it the present.”
Lillian Dickson said, “Life is like a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you can only spend it once.” Today will soon be gone and the time you have spent will be recorded. If you take advantage of the opportunity of the present by being faithful to what He called you to do today, God will say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
II Corinthians 6:2 “…behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
Today is a one time event. It is not a “scrimmage.” Today is the game! It is not a dress rehearsal. Today is the performance! Years ago, my grandmother painted these words on a plaque for our family, “Today well lived makes every yesterday a dream of happiness and every tomorrow a vision of hope.”
- Schedule your priorities and prioritize your schedule. Don’t habitually put off until tomorrow the opportunities you are given today. Procrastination is like pressing the pause button and putting success on-hold.
- Value today. Each new day is the first day of the rest of your life. Its arrival presents the possibility of twenty-four hours. Since most days are spent working, eating, and sleeping, it rarely leaves more than six hours to spend however you choose. To determine what you value most, observe the way you spend these six hours.
“…Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise.., but as wise, sensible, (intelligent people). Making the very most of the time, (buying up each opportunity)…” Ephesians 5:15,16 (AMP)
