Did you know that God has a vision for you? God is the master architect. The Bible is His blueprint. The blueprint is a picture of the vision with explicit instructions to carry out His purpose for your life. God has a specific plan “just for you.” If you don’t understand God’s plan and purpose, you have no place to go and no reason to exist. It is like taking a trip to an unknown destination without a map, address, name of the person you are suppose to meet, or your purpose for being there. Understanding the vision is imperative.
Vision is not only the act or power of seeing with the eye. It is also the ability to perceive something mentally or spiritually that is invisible. Vision declares the boundary for promotion. When God makes a promise, you have the right to possess it. If you can “see” it, you can “seize” it.
Habakkuk 2:2
“Write the vision, and make it plain upon the tablets of your heart.”
Practical Application and Assignments:
God sovereignly placed you on the planet in this generation. Your motivational gifts, talents, and desires that are connected to the heart of God will unveil your vision and equip you to accomplish your purpose.
- Study the blueprint and God will reveal His plan. Research the words vision and dreams in the Bible. Throughout the Scripture God used dreams and visions to give direction and reveal future events.
- Seize your vision. During the 1980’s, a time of national economic crises, God spoke to my dad in a dream, “I don’t fill ditches until you dig them. It’s time to build.” Without a dollar in the building fund or financing available for loans, he began digging the foundation of the 1,500 seat sanctuary. The church became “the miracle on 38th street.” Dad saw the church on the vacant lot before it existed.
- Don’t allow impatience or distractions to cause you to lose your vision. Do something today that will bring you closer to seeing your vision become a reality tomorrow.
“Where there is no vision the people perish.” Proverbs 29:18
