Trust is the essential ingredient for any successful relationship.  Trust acts as a double-sided adhesive to hold the relationship together in these trying and tumultuous times.  Trust is the substance that cements us together when the world endeavors to pull us apart.

A relationship cannot survive without trust.  Trust fills in the blanks, until the blanks can be filled in.  It answers the questions until the questions can be answered…Questions like: Where have you been?  Why did you do that? Where did all of the money go? Why is lipstick on your collar? Did you mean to hurt me?  David said, “He shall not be afraid of evil tidings:  his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.”  Psalm 112:7

Proverbs 28:25

“He who puts trust in the Lord shall be enriched and blessed.”

Practical Application and Assignments:

We have a creed or a belief in the United States that says, “Everyone is innocent until proven guilty.”  Trust works in much the same way.  Every person is considered trustworthy until that trust is broken.  Trust is not deserved when it is initially extended.  Trust is earned over a period of time.  It is like expensive wine that increases in value with age.  It is like the seed that produces fruit over time.  It is the reason consumers continue to buy the product.  It is what brings people together and glues relationships.

• Ask yourself if you are trustworthy.  If the answer is no, you need to bond with someone who is stronger and more stable than you.
• Bond with God and He will guide you in all that you do.
• Trust in God.  There is a difference in knowing about God and being personally acquainted with Him.  Faith in God can believe for the miraculous.  Trust in God requires a deeper level of intimacy.  It trusts the sovereignty of God in all the unanswered questions.

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3:5, 6
