Restoration is the Remedy of Life

Restoration is the Remedy of Life

Restoration is the process of repairing that which is broken.  The remedy is the cure, treatment, or solution to the dilemma.  For example, all of humanity, beginning with Adam and Eve have been “found guilty” of sin.  Sin breaks fellowship with God.  Its end result is the death penalty.  When Jesus served our sentence on the cross, He restored communion between God and man.

If you are in need of restoration in any area of your life, God’s grace and mercy has already provided the remedy.  God doesn’t recycle.  He takes the brokenness of a repentant heart, recreates, restores, and makes it brand new.  Restoration prepares you to fulfill your eternal purpose and destiny.

Psalm 51:10, 12

“…Restore unto me the joy of my salvation.”

Practical Application and Assignments:

It is almost impossible to go through life without experiencing the pain of a broken heart.  It is a part of life.  People are hurting because of broken dreams, broken promises, and broken lives.

  • Trust God. God has healing for the brokenhearted.  His joy restores a broken spirit.  His peace mends misunderstanding.  His healing removes the pain.  Leave whatever is broken in your life at the altar and walk away.  Let God fix it for you.
  • There is something therapeutic in taking that which is broken or damaged and restoring it to its original state. Refinish the wood on a piece of furniture that needs restoration.  Repair broken items…
  • Get involved in the restoration process. “If a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one with a spirit of gentleness, lest you also be tempted.”  Galatians 6:1.  Someone said, “Instead of pointing a finger, try holding out a hand.”
  • Provide an “Intensive Care Unit.” God’s recovery room is a place of healing, restoration, and unconditional love.

“…Thou shalt be called, the repairer of the breach, the restorer of paths to dwell in.” Isaiah 58:12
