Dreams are the Seeds of Life

Dreams are the Seeds of Life

When God created humanity, He placed within man a special gift.  God gave each of us the capacity to use our imagination.  Imagination is the faculty in our soul that enables us to dream.  Usually, when we dream we hope to solve a problem, meet a need, or break the barriers of some limitation.  For example, where would the twenty-first century be without dreamers like Henry Ford, Alexander Graham Bell, the Wright brothers, Christopher Columbus, or Martin Luther King, Jr.?

God deposited dream-seeds into the heart of every man, woman, boy, and girl.  The Bible is full of dreamers who knew how to access the secret seeds of greatness that God planted in them.  God has given the seed, soil, sun, and seasons, but He will not do the work for us.  Someone said, “A dream without goals is fantasy, but goals without a dream is drudgery.”  What are you doing with your seed?

Galatians 6:9 (Paraphrased)

“…In due season you will reap, if you don’t lose your dream.”

Practical Application and Assignments:

A dream is only a seed until it is planted. A dream without a landing gear will never become a reality.

  • Dream powerful, creative dreams. Dream about things that are outside your capability to accomplish. Oral Roberts said, “Dream all that you can dream because God is able to do even more than you can ask or think.”
  • Step out on faith and make your dreams come true. The beautiful campus of Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma exists because of one man’s dream. It was erected for the glory of God, and has impacted the globe through the multiplied thousands of young people it has influenced.  It took a magnanimous step of faith for Oral Roberts to build the University and the City of Faith Hospital.  What are you doing with the dream God has given to you?

“The secret things belong unto the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.” Deuteronomy 29:29
