The word placement in this context does not pertain to status. It is used in reference to your starting point. There are a number of things about you that cannot be changed. You were not given a choice in the matter. You were not allowed to choose the generation in which you would be born, who your parents would be, your DNA or genetic code, your birthing order or the time and place of your birth.
It was Divine providence that chose your exact placement and origin. God had a reason for making these choices for you. Trust Him with the outcome of the things you cannot change.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Practical Application and Assignments:
We were not born into a perfect world, but God placed the power of choice in each of us giving us the opportunity to make our world better. Life experiences become pivotal moments that will make us or break us, depending on our choices.
- Don’t blame God for your mess-ups. Many tragedies that are referred to as an act of God are actually the result of an act of our own free will. God will not violate our freedom to choose by forcing His will on us.
- Pray the Serenity Prayer every day of your life if necessary: “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
- Make the prayer visible in your home. Place it on the refrigerator door. Tape it to the mirror in the bathroom… Putting this prayer into practice will dramatically change your life.
- Place yourself in God’s hands. You are here on purpose, for a purpose. You are in the right place at the right time. Give God the driver’s seat, sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.
