Resurrection offers unlimited tomorrows. It echoes a sound of hope. Every time you plant a seed beneath the soil and watch it burst forth in the life of a new plant, you witness a resurrection.
The soldiers thought they had ended the life of Jesus at his death on the cross. They buried him and guarded his tomb. But on the third day something miraculous and spectacular happened. He was resurrected! Angels rolled away the stone revealing an empty tomb. The grave of Jesus Christ is the birth place of an indestructible belief in the resurrection. The appearance of our resurrected Lord gives us the assurance that we will live as long as God lives. Jesus said, “Because I live, ye shall live also.” John 14:19
John 11:25
Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”
Practical Application and Assignments:
There are two kinds of people: “the haves” and “the have-nots.” “He that hath the Son hath life, and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” I John 5:12
- Remove a flower from a plant, its source of life. Watch it wilt, shrivel up, and die. It is only through our faith and connection with Father God, through Jesus Christ, that we have the assurance of eternal life. Are you connected to the Source of life?
- To illustrate resurrection, plant a potato in the ground. Soon a tender plant will appear. The potato will decompose, but continue to live in the new plant. “Unless a grain of wheat is buried it is no more than a grain of wheat. But if it is buried, it sprouts and reproduces itself many times over.” John 12:24 Are you spiritually dead or alive?
- Study the law of physics. Nothing ever ceases to exist, it simply changes form.
“As we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.” I Corinthians 15:49
