Rejection is the Curse of Life

Rejection is the Curse of Life

Love, acceptance, a sense of belonging, and self-worth are key ingredients in our growth and development.  When those elements are missing it causes dysfunction and emotional instability.  A person who is neglected of touching and positive spoken words is starved of personal acceptance.  The curse is that silence communicates confusion, and rejection and isolation breed inferiority.

The bad news is that everyone experiences rejection on some level.  The good news is that God can turn it around.  When Joseph was rejected by his brothers and sold into slavery, God used the affliction to preserve a nation.  You can overcome rejection.  When you accept God’s love, you reverse the curse.

II Corinthians 10:18 (CEV)

“The only approval that counts is the Lord’s.”

Practical Application and Assignments:

I Chronicles 4:9 is the only time Jabez is mentioned in the Bible.  His name meant “born with sorrow.”  He prayed for favor indicating that he had suffered from the pain of rejection.  Jabez asked, “Oh that Thou would bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast and that Thy hand might be with me, and that Thou would keep me from evil that it may not grieve me.”  The next verse says, “So God granted his request.”

  • If you are being tormented mentally or emotionally because of a painful experience of rejection, pray your own prayer for deliverance and expect God to grant your request.
  • Exercise your God-given authority. Read Matthew 16:19. You have the power through the Holy Spirit to bind the spirit of rejection and cancel any satanic curse or assignment.
  • Reject rejection! Allow God to use it to build character in you.  Instead of being a stumbling block, it will become a stepping stone.
  • Read Psalm, chapter 27. It is the key to overcoming rejection.   Receive God’s love and acceptance.  Nothing else matters!

“The Lord hath appeared of old unto me saying, I have loved you with an everlasting love.”  Jeremiah 31:3
