Have you ever heard the term, “Practice makes perfect?” A student can take piano lessons for years, but only that student who ardently perseveres and practices with consistent devotion will develop the skill of playing the piano. It doesn’t matter how much the lessons cost or how frequent the class was attended. The only way to learn is to practice and then keep practicing. Learning the simple rudiments requires dedication. The enjoyment doesn’t come until the hands can automatically and skillfully move on the keyboard producing the beautiful chords and rhythms of the music.
The same is true of every arena in life. It takes diligence and perseverance to reach any goal. When you add determination to will power it becomes perseverance. Diligent perseverance will not let you quit until you can do it right and finish that which you have begun. God will never give up on you. Don’t give up on yourself.

Practical Application and Assignments:
Perseverance has no room for half-heartedness. It’s all or nothing. It doesn’t just talk about it. It doesn’t just watch and hope it happens. Perseverance makes it happen!

- Make it happen! If God’s Word says, “you can,” you can. Don’t take no for an answer. Rich Demoss said, “Persistence is stubbornness with a purpose.” When the ball is in your end of the court, run with it. You can’t score unless you make the shot. Perseverance always accelerates full speed ahead toward its goal.
