Many people accomplish very little in life because their lack of organizational skills keep them going in circles. Some never reach the finish line because they never get past the starting point. Others never even get on the track. If you are disorganized, don’t sink into despair. Someone said, “You can eat an elephant if you eat it one bite at a time.”
Organization is a gift, but it can also be acquired through training. Developing a systemized routine through methodical planning is a pre-requisite for success. Keeping a current filing system for important documents and personal records saves time and reduces stress. Time management and prioritizing is imperative. Determine the necessity of each project and place them in the order of their importance. Divide each task into one step intervals. Avoid distractions by staying focused.
Psalm 119:133
“Establish my steps and direct them by Your Word.”
Practical Application and Assignments:
Have you heard the expression, “A man’s work is from sun to sun, but a woman’s work is never done?” Because many daily tasks are repetitive, they can become boring and redundant.
- When you begin to question, “What’s the use?”… take a break. Simplify your life. You can wear yourself out doing things that are non-essential. Exhaustion can make you feel like your labor is in vain. Fatigue produces immobility.
- When discouragement makes you feel you will never complete the task, never say, “Never.” Your actions will always follow your words. Your motivation is dependent on your attitude.
- Keep your eyes on the prize. Instead of only looking at what you have left to do, look at what you have accomplished. It will help you refuel and give you a second wind.
“Put God in charge of your work, then what you’ve planned will take place.” Proverbs 16:3 (MSG)
