Many people with multiple degrees in higher learning have no knowledge of God. How can man be so intelligent and ignorant at the same time? For example, how could politicians and judges recognizing the spiritual decadence of American youth, forbid children to pray in school? No wonder God said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6
When Adam and Eve acquired the knowledge of good and evil, it led to disaster because they lacked understanding. Understanding discerns the difference, while wisdom sees the wickedness and departs from it. Knowledge, that is acquired from God, is accompanied with wisdom and understanding. A crown signifies recognition for a title, position, or accomplishment. “The simple acquire folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.” Proverbs 14:18
Ecclesiastes 7:12
…“the excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives life to those who have it.”
Practical Application and Assignments:
Knowledge is acquiring information. Understanding is arranging information. Wisdom is applying information. Since the moment of your birth, your computer brain has been accessing information. Your subconscious mind is even processing sound data while you are sleeping.
- Think about it and answer the following questions: How did you obtain the knowledge you have gained? What and who are you allowing to speak into your life?
- Guard your heart and your mind against that which is contrary to the truth of God’s Word, so that you may “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” II Peter 3:18
- Invest in your quest for knowledge. Fill your own library with information that will enlarge your frame of reference. Knowledge is more valuable than gold or silver.
“Receive My instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than gold.” Proverbs 8:10
