Imagination and creativity go hand in hand. Every new scientific discovery or invention begins with imagination. A fantasy is an unreal mental image or illusion created by visualization and daydreaming. The movie screens are filled with the product of someone’s imagination. It is an incredible gift from God. I remember as a child pretending that the lions and tigers were after me. My mom never suppressed my wild imagination. She would pretend with me.
Imagination and fantasy birth dreams. Dreams birth goals. Goals birth plans. Plans executed, birth the reality of the mission completed. William Arthur Ward said, “If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can achieve it, you can become it.”

Practical Application and Assignments:
Imagination is the forecast of the future. When you let your imagination run wild, you may be surprised where it takes you.
- Use creative ways to develop your gift of imagination. Let me illustrate: My children were visiting their grandparents and it had rained the entire day. By dinner time they were depressed and crying. Mom put sounds of the rain forest in the stereo, opened the window beside the table, and let the rain inside. She covered the table with a blanket and exclaimed, “We’re going to eat in a cave in the rain forest.” Instantly, the atmosphere changed as the laughter was heard from under the table. Imagination turned a sad evening into an adventure.
- Awaken your imagination. Take the limits off. What would you attempt to do if you could accomplish anything you can imagine? D. L. Moody said, “If you partner with God, make big plans!”
