Have you ever looked at a photograph or video in which the photographer obviously neglected to focus the lens on the subject? What a disaster! Our objectives will not become clear until we bring them into focus by prioritizing our life.
Matthew 6:22 (AMP) says, “The eye is the lamp of the body. So if your eye is sound, your entire body will be full of light.” It is impossible to have clear vision without light and focus, but on “what” you place your focus is of equal importance. If you focus on the rearview mirror too long, eventually, you will lose sight of where you are going. When you focus on your future with faith in God, who is our light, He will bring clarity to that which should be given priority.

Practical Application and Assignments:
“If your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness.” Matthew 6:23 (AMP) Eyeglasses merely magnify and bend light. You can wear them all you want in the dark, but you still won’t see anything. Your focus simply places light on what you give priority.
- Prioritize your life. Logically arrange your activities in the order of their importance. Place your focus and attention on that which is most significant. The Apostle Paul demonstrated focus when he said, “This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching for those things which are ahead.” He demonstrated priority when he said, “I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13,14
- Make sure your highest priority has eternal value. My grandfather pastored churches for forty years. On his death bed his only prayer was, “Give me one more soul.” He witnessed to every person who entered his room and won many of his care givers to Christ.
