A crossroad is an intersection where two paths meet. It is an opportunity to use the power of reason and the privilege of choice. When a decision is required, it means there is more than one choice in the matter. When a decision is made the uncertainty is ended with a definite choice in judgment, determining both the direction and consequential results.
Life is filled with decisions, but the most important is that which determines your eternal destiny. Pilate faced the decision, “What then shall I do with Jesus which is called the Christ?” Matthew 27:22 He was overcome with guilt as he handed Christ to the soldier to be crucified. Every person will eventually face that decision.
Are you at the crossroads of destiny?
Joshua 24:15
“Choose you this day whom you will serve.”
Practical Application and Assignments:
Decisions present pivotal opportunities that can literally change the course of your life. Your decisions will either make you or break you. Everyone is responsible for their decisions. We have no one to blame but ourselves for the end result of our choices.
- Bring everything to God and bring God into everything. When you follow God’s ways He will influence your decisions with wisdom to make the right choices.
- Learn from the consequences and rewards of the decisions of others. For example, King Agrippa never went past the gate of indecision. He said, “Almost thou persuadest me to be Christian.” Almost is not good enough.
- Realize that to “not” make a decision “is” a decision! Don’t be afraid to make decisions because God can even redeem our mistakes, especially when our motives are right.
“…I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life…” Deuteronomy 30:19
