A Christian and an atheist went on a camping trip together. The atheist asked, “How do you know there is a God? Have you seen Him, heard Him, touched Him or smelled Him?” The Christian said, “No.” Before going to sleep, he asked God for an answer. The next morning the atheist acknowledged that a cavalcade of camels had passed by their camp during the night. The Christian asked, “How do you know? Did you see them, hear them, touch them, or smell them?” “No, I can see their tracks,” the atheist replied. The Christian quickly responded, “Do you see that beautiful waterfall and that majestic mountain? That’s where my God left His tracks!”
All of creation is an expression of life. Creativity gives you options and opportunities. It expands your capability. God has placed creativity in each of us. Are you leaving your tracks?
Genesis 1:1
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
Practical Application and Assignments:
There is nothing more exciting than creativity. The birthing and creative process begins with a seed or an idea that is given a plan. The seamstress can take a plan and turn a simple piece of fabric into a garment that can become a fashion statement. The construction worker can take a plan of the architect and transform a piece of dirt into a landmark with a magnanimous building on it. The artist can take a brush and some watercolors and change a piece of canvas into a work of art. That is creativity!
- Recognize the creativity God has placed within you. Cultivate your gifts and talents through training and apprenticeship.
- Pursue your ideas with a plan of action. Bring them to life. God never gives us creative ideas that we are not capable of bringing to pass with His help. God supplies the raw material. We develop the finished product.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
