"The
Secret To Success Is In The Sequence!"
ICEBREAKER:
What language sounds the most unusual or strange to you?
INTRODUCTION:
The secret of success is often found in the sequence. Many times the reason you
have been able to achieve something great can be found in your routine. The
fact that you keep working at something until it is completed proves you have
the tenacity for what lies ahead. Today's lesson reminds us that order and
sequence are very important. You cannot go into second grade studies until you
have completed the first grade material. Life is a series of stepping stones
that prepare us for each new day or season. You must appreciate where you are
now in order to value where you will be tomorrow.
CONFESSION: I will trust God to help me re-prioritize my
life. I choose to set things in the right order...

DEFINITION: Sequence:
A particular order in which related movements, events or things follow each

OUTLINE:
Creation unfolds in a sequence
1.
The Holy Spirit hovers, broods over empty, dark,
unstructured places, atmospheres and circumstances
2.
The Spirit moves over the water (The Earth and even our bodies are made
up predominantly of water)
3.
God speaks creation into existence
4.
God creates something from nothing
5.
God separates or divides or prioritizes what He creates
6.
God names what He has created to identify its purpose and
function
7.
God starts in the darkness and brings illumination
8.
God appreciates, values and affirms that each day is good even
though He is not finished
9.
God speaks to that something
and creates something from something
10.
Whatever comes forth bears the seed
within it to keep reproducing after its own kind
11.
God created the object of His
affection last because everything up to this point was created to
sustain mankind. God is a master planner!
12. God rested upon the completion of
His work

STUDY
GROUP QUESTIONS:
1. As
a group, without reading Genesis 1 first, name what God created on each day of
creation.
2. What
area of your life could use a little more order or structure?
3. Name
something you must do in life that has to be done in a certain order for it to
work or be successful.
4. When
God speaks worlds are created! We were created in his image and likeness. One
of the greatest gifts and responsibilities He gave us was the gift of language
and speech. Speak a blessing over some area of your life that you would like to
see some improvement.
5. When
was the last time you created, built, or developed something?
6. On
the seventh day God rested. In many ways in our fast-paced world we have
forgotten how to rest. What do you do to unwind or rest?
7. What
does success look like to you? In other words how do you define success?
