DEFINITIONS: Sift:

Hebrew: Nuwph: wave, shake, offer, lift up move, perfumed, send, strike

Hebrew: Nuwa: to wave, quiver, vibrate, swing, stagger, tremble, be unstable, to cause to wander

Greek: Siniazo: to sift, shake in a sieve, by inward agitation to try one's faith to the verge of overthrow

 

Adjectives: 1. part, filter, strain, separate, pan, bolt, riddle, sieve

2. examine, investigate, go through, research, screen, probe, analyze, work over, pore over, scrutinize

STUDY GROUP QUESTIONS:

1.     Why do you think God would ever allow the enemy to sift His children?

2.     What do you think Peter was thinking and feeling when Jesus told him Satan had asked to sift him like wheat?

3.     Which of the destiny sifters listed above do you think would be the most trying?

4.     Identify someone in the Bible that went through one or more of the sifting processes.

5.     Why do you think it takes longer for some people to go through the sifting than others?  Are you a fast learner, a slow learner or something in between?

6.     Tell us one thing you have learned from the sifting in your life?
