1.    The Sound of God’s Voice: God always speaks with the voice of authority.

2.    The Substance of God’s Voice: God’s Voice always affirms the truth of His Word. (God never contradicts His Word)

3.    The Circumstances of Life: God uses situations in life, even if He did not cause them, to position us to hear His voice.

 

5 Ways We “Dis” the Voice of God

1.  Disappointment with His Timing

2.  Disagreement with His Word

3.  Disobedience to His Ways

4.  Discouragement in the Battle

5.  Dissatisfaction with His Provision

STUDY GROUP QUESTIONS:

1.    What human being past or present would you say has or has had one of the most unusual or distinct voices you have heard?

3.    How do you know when God is speaking to you?  

4.    Psalm 29 describes the effects of the voice of the Lord seven times in eleven verses.  Look at verses 3-9.  Which description jumps out at you and why?  Symbolically what do you think they mean?

5.    Describe a circumstance in your life in the past that gave you a desire to get you in position to hear God’s voice more clearly.

6.    In the outline I have listed 5 ways that we “dis” the voice of God. In other words 5 things that will obstruct our ability to hear God’s voice.  Pick one that you have had to deal with and tell us about it.

7.    Psalm 29:10 describes how God is enthroned on the floods or the storms of life.  What is the greatest storm on the horizon of your life or family right now?
