STUDY GROUP QUESTIONS:

1.     Picking up your cross and denying yourself is one of the most challenging aspects of the life of a true disciple of Jesus Christ. What does that mean to you?

2.     An attitude by definition is the position or posture assumed by the body in connection with an action, feeling, mood; a manner of acting, feeling, or thinking that shows one's disposition or opinion; the way a person views something or tends to behave towards it, often in an evaluative way.  Our attitudes are often displayed or expressed with body language. Identify or demonstrate with body language some of the ways we express our agreement/ disagreement or pleasure/displeasure with people or situations.

3.     Name some false beliefs that people have about God or themselves from our culture or upbringing.

4.     The way Christians conduct themselves and behave says a lot about what we really believe? Why do you think that Christians often behave like unbelievers?

5.     Tell us one desire that you have had to put on the back burner or sacrifice to the Lord.

6.     Of the emotions that I have listed which one is the hardest for you to manage or control? (Anger, Fear, Envy, Grief, Depression, Joy, Passion, Love, Lust)

7. Luke 14:26,27,33, If any [man] come to me, and hate not his

father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and

sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me,

    cannot be my disciple.

So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsakes not all that

he hath, he cannot be my disciple.  These are really strong

words that simply mean that Jesus does not want any person or

thing to come between God and you. What relationship or

friendship do you most need to put in God’s hands right now?

    A. Employer

    B. Co-worker

    C. Family member

    D. ____________________________________________

8. Why do you think it is so hard for many people to trust God with

their time, talents and treasure (MONEY)?
