TEXT:  Acts 13:16-23, Exodus 20:1-17( READ after question #1)

STUDY GROUP QUESTIONS:

1.    We learned that freedom is dedicated through restraint. After over 400 years of bondage the Hebrew people were led out of slavery by Moses.  However just 50 days after departing Egypt God gave them the Ten commandments to restrain them from behaviors that would destroy their freedom.  See if you as a group, without looking them up, can name them in order.

2.    Which of the Ten Commandments have we as a culture decided to overlook and why?

3.    The greater the liberty, the greater the responsibility.  Name a liberty that we have in this country that must be used with great responsibility.

4.    To whom much is given, much is required or expected.  NASCAR drivers are given great financial resources by the companies that underwrite them. So the drivers put their logos on their cars, hats, and uniforms. They are expected to perform at a high level as well as act responsibly for these companies. Name one thing that God has given you as a believer and something He has the right to expect from us.

5.    What some of the negative behaviors that Christians exhibit that negatively advertise the Kingdom of God?

6.    Attitude is the difference between winning and losing.  Name an attitude or mood that God has been working in your life.

A.   Impatience

B.   Procrastination

C.   Out of control temper

D.   Retaliation

E.    Compromise

F.    Laziness

G.   _______________________________

7.    Our God is a God of the odds. He can cause you to win even if you do not have a racecar. The Hebrew people could not compete with pharaoh and his army of riders and chariots, so God did a miracle and rolled back the Red Sea. In what area of your life do you most need a miracle right now?
