ICEBREAKER:  Tell us what is your favorite place to shop and why. (It doesn’t matter what kind of product)

 

DEFINITIONS:  Contentment: To show a willingness or determination, to hear, listen & obey, to rejoice or be glad, to be independent of external circumstances, to be possessed of unfailing strength. To be at peace no matter what situation you are in.

 

OUTLINE: 4 Secrets to Contentment

1.   Learn to act better than you feel

2.   Refuse to compare yourself to others

3.   Rejoice whenever you feel like complaining

4.   Change the things you can change and accept the things you do not have the power to change until God intervenes

STUDY GROUP QUESTIONS:

1.   When was the last time you purchased something you thought you needed or wanted and later wished you had not spent the money?

2.   How much money would it take to fix all your problems right now?

3.   Read 2 Corinthians 11:16-30.  List some of the things that Paul endured the sake of the Gospel.  Identify something you have faced because of your faith.

4.   The heart’s ability to be content is directly related to the content of the mind. In other words as the Bible says, “As a man thinks in his heart so is he.”  Paul said we must learn to be content.  How is this lesson learned in your life?

5.   What does it mean to be content in your own words?

6.   Why do you think complaining is so offensive to God?

7.   If you could have one prayer answered right now what would it be?
