STUDY GROUP QUESTIONS:

1.    There are many things in the Bible that are referred to as holy. Try to name one. (If you are having trouble, I have listed a number of Holy Bible references that you can look up. Look them up in the King James Bible if you can.  No need to look them all up.)

a.    Exodus 3:5, Exd 16:23, Exd 19:6, Exd 28:2, Exd 30:31, Exd 30:31, Exd 39:30, Lev 22:32 Num 5:17, Deu 28:9, 1Ki 8:4, 1Ki 8:10, 2Chr 3:10, Neh 11:1, Job 6:10, Psa 2:6, Psa 5:7, Psa 87:1, Psa 98:1, Psa 105:42, Eze 36:38, Dan 11:30, Zec 2:13, Mat 1:18, Luk 9:26, Jhn 17:11, Rom 11:16, Rom16:16, 2Ti 1:9, 2Ti 3:15, 1Pe 3:5, 2Pe 3:2, Rev 18:20

2.    True holiness begins with an internal change not an external makeover, but once there is a heart transformation everything changes. Name something that you just felt like had to change once you got saved or became a disciple of Jesus.

3.    Matthew 5:3-16 describes the ways of holy people and rewards of those ways, while 2 Timothy 3:1-5 describes the ways of an unholy generation.  Holy people are called to be different from the world.  How are Christians supposed to be different? Identify some things we are called both to do and not to do.

4.    Since your behavior is tied to your beliefs how would you say that holy people think differently from the society or culture that we live in today?

5.    The word holy means to be set apart or to treat as sacred.  What are some of the lies that the devil wants you to believe about living a holy life?

a.    You are never going have any fun

b.   People are going to make fun of you & think you are weird

c.    If you trust God you are going to be disappointed

d.   It is impossible to live that way

e.    It doesn’t really matter

f.     _________________________________________________

6.    Identify one thing about you that you would like the holiness of God to help you change about yourself?

a.    I would like to be more generous

b.   I would like to be more forgiving

c.    I would like to be more punctual

d.   I would like to be more patient

e.    I would like to be more confrontational

f.     I would like to be more complimentary

g.    _________________________________________________

7.    The holiness of God is tied to the wholeness of God.  No situation or circumstance could ever cause God to act out of character.  Moses got so mad at the complaints of the people that he disobeyed God and struck the rock twice. Describe a pet peeve of yours that sends you over the edge so that you know you haven’t quite reached total wholeness yet.
