OUTLINE:  People of Courage Principles

  People of Courage…

1.    Don’t allow fear to speak to them or through them

2.    Ultimately never give up, they always eventually stand up & speak up

3.    See beyond the probabilities to the possibilities

4.    Make split second decisions to do heroic acts but the preparation often takes a lifetime

5.    Never look to the polls for the answers, they look in the soul for the answers

6.    Are usually not people with extraordinary ability but rather ordinary people with extra-ordinary availability

 

DEFINITIONS

Courage: CHAZAQ (Hebrew) To show one’s self strong, to be resolute, to encourage, to withstand, to restore, rebuild, repair, to join to, tie fast, to seize, to adhere, to bind, to gird.

 

Strong: AMATS (Hebrew) To be fixed in mind, strong in mind, to be alert, agile, quick, energetic, brave, bold, determined, solid, superior to.

STUDY GROUP QUESTIONS:

1.    Tell the group in your opinion who is the most courageous person from history besides Jesus Christ, that is no longer living and why? (Of course Jesus is still alive)

2.    What is the greatest fear you face right now for your nation, family and/or self?

3.    What is the biggest challenge you have faced in your life?

4.    Name one thing in your life that you have allowed or presently allow fear to speak through you about and what would fear like you to say right now about that situation?

5.    When was the last time you said, ‘alright that’s it I quit’ but knew you were just blowing off steam when you said it?

6.    Courage speaks of laminating itself or joining itself to someone or something, specifically God.  So how do you make your connection with God stronger?

7.    Who in your life do you think God has called you to be a hero or leader to and how will you accomplish that calling?
