ICEBREAKER:  What do you miss most when the power goes out at your house? (Cold drinks, Hot Showers, TV, Internet, Lights, Homemade meals, Clean Clothes, Ice Cream, Coffee, Clean Dishes)

1.    What kind of need moves your heart the most?  (Hurting Kids, The Sick, The Elderly, The Poor, The Abused, The Mistreated, Those Going Through Natural Disasters, Ect)

2.    As A group identify the six verbs used to describe the heroic actions of the good Samaritan.

3.    What were the possible negatives of the Good Samaritan’s     actions? (Loss of Time, Loss of Opportunities, Money, Loss of Life, Possible Accusation, Loss of Resources, Ridicule)

5.    Compassion requires that we first See, then Feel, then Act.  What do you think are some of the biggest & ugliest problems we have in our society that we refuse to notice and deal with?

6.    When you think professions which ones do you think of as the most compassionate and why?

7.    In this story the righteous religious people walked right past the pain but the pagan responded with love and kindness.  How can you explain this?

8.    What does it usually take for us to become more compassionate?

 

As a group pray for the less fortunate and ask God to open your eyes to see the needs around us.
